Exercise may not be the most exciting word in your vocabulary, but it sure has a lot of benefits. Not only is exercise the best way to stay fit (in concert with a healthy diet, natch), it is also a tool that could actually reduce stress levels in an individual.
I’m sure you’ve heard it dozens of times before from somebody else – “Doc told me it’s a bad case of stress.” You probably told that person he or she was seeing a quack who didn’t know better as to what was the real cause of the illness. But did you know that these doctors are often right when they say that many diseases can be brought about by high levels of stress?
Daily exercise is probably the easiest way to boost your immune system and reduce harmful levels of stress. Keep that body movin’. Bend, stretch, reach, walk. And no, no, no, there is no need at all to spend your life savings on snazzy exercise equipment. The important here is movement – as long as that is a part of your daily routine, then you’re all good.
If you are looking for something to do with your better half, then one great idea would be to work out side-by-side to your favorite aerobic videos – great fun! Or simply go out for a walk and enjoy spending time together. You’ve heard it dozens of times -walking really is the best overall excise for your health. As long as you have a decent pair of walking shoes, you’re in business!
Also, as you’re going throughout your daily activities, make it a point to walk a little further, bend down and pick something up instead of using some sort of pick up stick or knocking the item toward you with your foot. Or stretch your neck and shoulder muscles with some simple exercises that can be done while sitting down.
If you enjoy watching television, buy a jogging board. These are boards with special padding, that allow you to run, jog or jump in place without putting stress on your joints and knees. No problem either keeping them or moving them elsewhere. In my opinion, jogging boards are the best piece of exercise equipment you can buy. Oh, and another thing…they happen to be more affordable than stationary bikes and treadmills.
By moving your body around, may it be through jogging, cardio or even dancing, you increase your overall health and immunity. So that leaves you trapped in the web of good exercise habits – no way for stress to harm you now!
