Foods to Never Ever Eat
Watch out, diabetics- in our world it’s hard to stay safe while eating food.
Diabetics should know that some foods they should avoid no matter what, because of their lack of nutrition.
Some food can even make it harder to manage blood sugar! Read on to know what foods to avoid.
Number One: Restaurant French Fries: One of those “avoid-at-all-costs” foods, French fries are full of nutritional dangers like calories and saturated fat.
Oh, and by the way- trans-fat free doesn’t mean healthy. Also full of cholesterol. So brace yourself before you buy a large order of these.
Number Two: Hamburgers/ Cheeseburgers: Stuffed with bad fats and calories, these meaty morsels make it even harder to keep blood sugar in a healthy range. So avoid.
If you really are craving a burger, make it at home if you can, with lots of vegetables and no cheese.
AVOID: Store-bought Cookies and Baked Goods: Make cookies or muffins instead of buying them, I beg of you. Try to find hugh-fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated palm oils in homeade cookies.
AVOID: Cakes and Pies: Okay, okay, we all know that there’s virtually no nutritional value in unhealthy sweets.
Fats and calories are abundant in all cakes and pies, especially mixes. If you’ve got to have cake, make sure it’s not pound cake. That’s the worst.
Number Five: Frozen Meals: Convenience doesn’t make food healthy. TV dinners and frozen potpies have lots of fats and sodium.
All frozen meals you eat should have low amounts of fats and calories. Otherwise, just avoid.
AVOID: Sodas and soft drinks: Practically bottles of carbonated water and sugar. If you’re in a “gotta-have-it” mood for soda, try to make it diet, as they’re lower in calories and sugar.
So, as a diabetic, there are lots of foods to ignore that can add to your waistlines and make management of diabetes harder.
There are more victuals that you shouldn’t eat though, so be on the lookout for foods that aren’t as healthy as they seem.
